Croeso (Welcome)
Home sweet home!
Can you believe we’ve already been on site for two months?! It hasn’t taken long to start feeling like home though and our pioneers are already doing a fantastic job of settling in and getting the foundations of our ecovillage set in motion!

Gordon Swain (1944-2014)
We’d like to pay tribute to the farm’s former owner Gordon Swain, who converted the site himself. Sadly he passed away 3 years ago, but his hard work and vision will live on with us!
Gordon Swain, with wife Margaret and two sons, despite much scepticism, purchased the derelict farm site in 1987 and proceeded with a vision to reclaim the land and inspire a transformation. Rebuilding the farmhouse, converting the cowsheds and smokehouse into letting cottages, building up the river banks and excavating a 1 acre spring fed lake, attracted an abundance of wildlife from the river, woodlands and skies. Gordon was very eco-minded utilising the natural spring water to supply the house, installing solar power generation and water heat exchangers to the roofs of the outbuildings.
Gordon unexpected passed away in 2014 making it impractical for the family to maintain the property. Our humble ad most gracious appreciation is expressed to Gordon and his family for the creating this legacy, an amazing haven to be shared with so many in need of recovery and inspiration from mother nature.
